SDSL Forums

Attention All Librarians — Academic, Public, School!
Attention ALL Library Trustees, Friends groups and School Administrators!

Lesley Boughton, recently retired Wyoming State Librarian, will be our consultant facilitating our mid-program review and discussion of our state's current and future 5-Year LSTA Plans. Large or small this is an excellent opportunity for you and your community to be heard.

How are we serving you?

And for future discussions: How can we serve your community library better or more effectively in the next 5-Year LSTA Plan, 2018-2022? Each state's LSTA Plan provides the guidelines for how our state's allotment must be used. It is the current roadmap which dictates our staffing efforts, spending and activities.

For South Dakota this is currently approximately $996,000 in federal dollars. Our current 5-Year plan is available here on our website

Trustee credit will be given for attendance and CE credit for librarians seeking certification.

Forums are open to all citizens, community, school and legislative leaders, trustees and library staff. Please SAVE these dates/times and plan to attend. Feel free to pass this along to your city and community leaders and to your legislators. Your voice is vital to the ongoing success of the IMLS Grants to States program and to South Dakotans who rely on this funding to provide equal access to information to all South Dakota citizens.

If you have specific questions about how funds are currently expended, please contact me at the State Library.

Daria Bossman, State Librarian
