Jump Start 2014

Thank you to everyone who participated in a Jump Start workshop and for the excellent leadership and presentations by the local librarians! Here are some of the resources from Jump Start and others that can help enhance your program this summer

Dates and Locations:

Get ready to FIZZ, BOOM, and READ for your summer reading program by attending one of seven Jump Start workshops. New this year: workshops will be hosted and lead by local librarians! Each library will receive one kit of sample activities that will be demonstrated by your workshop leader. You are also encouraged to bring a sample activity of your own to show at your workshop (you do not need to bring materials for everyone).

Each morning workshop will be from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. local time.

Five of the workshops will also have optional afternoon programs from the South Dakota Discovery Center focusing on STEM concepts in children's programming. Each library that attends one of the afternoon workshops will also receive a GEMS (Great Explorations in Math & Science) guide of activities. The afternoon workshops will be from 1 - 3:30 p.m. local time.
