Programs | South Dakota Library Week 2011
It begins with a book
Books are where we first discover our dreams, and with imagination and perseverance, we can achieve almost anything! During South Dakota Library Week 2011, First Lady Linda Daugaard announced her "It begins with a book" campaign to promote libraries and literacy across South Dakota. A former teacher and librarian herself, Mrs. Daugaard has always supported the important role that libraries play in building literacy for all.
During South Dakota Library Week 2011, the First Lady, in partnership with the South Dakota State Library, distributed posters and bookmarks bearing the slogan: "It begins with a book" to local and school libraries across the state. Teachers, librarians and other educators may click on the images below to download and print copies of the materials for use in their schools and libraries.
