Braille

The South Dakota Braille & Talking Book Library (B&TBL) maintains a small Braille collection. Most of the Braille books in the collection are braille children's books. A large portion are books with both print and Braille (twin vision).

Most Braille books are provided directly to South Dakota borrowers from the Western Braille Center in Salt Lake City.

The B&TBL library has a contract with the Utah Braille and Talking Book Library for additional braille books. The Utah B&TBL has the largest braille collection in the world and can be used by any of our library patrons who can read braille. Once the application process is complete, a staff person will work with you on the ordering process. Click here if you have any question or comments talkbkreq@state.sd.us.
