Recall and Check-In
Using "Recall" and "Check-in" to close records for items back at the lender but not marked "returned."
- When attempting to "check-in" from the upper pane, I get an error message: "Action is not allowed for request status".
- Displaying the individual item record shows that the borrower has not done the "return":
- Click on "Recall" in the lower pane and submit the recall. (No need to enter a message)
- The item has been "recalled":
- Click in the little box beside the "F" in the upper pane, then click "Check-In" in the orange bar of the upper pane (not the very top blue box check-in button). This "close" the record for the lender and checks the item in circulation
- The borrower will have a message in their "Recall" file. They will need to display the "Transactions" to make sure that this is not a "real" recall and that the lending library has done a "checked in"; then the borrower will do the "return." This checks in the item from the patron's record and completes the process for the borrower.
- After the borrower does the return, the record shows up in the lender's "return" file and must be checked in again (even though it is already checked in in the GUI and is circulating).
