Read full-text articles about health and fitness by clicking on “Health & Human Body” in the Subject Tree and then clicking “Physical Health & Fitness” in the right-hand sidebar. Find games to play by clicking on “Activities” under Database Features, and then clicking “exercises, games & sports.” Use Discoverer WebFind to locate safe, appropriate web sites about physical health and fitness.

Read full-text articles about health and fitness by typing “physical fitness” into the search box or click on Curriculum Pathfinders in the lower right-hand sidebar and click on “Health.”

ProQuest (Grade 9-adult)
Read full-text articles about health and fitness from U.S. and international popular, news, and scholarly journals. Type terms in “Basic Search” box or search individual publications by clicking the Publications tab and searching for the desired publication. ProQuest carries the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance; Shape; Joe Weider’s Muscle & Fitness; Men’s Health; NewsRx Health; Women’s Health Weekly, and many more.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
Learn more about physical fitness and health by typing search terms in the “Basic Search” box or by searching specific full-text reference books, including Drugs and Controlled Substances: Information for Students, Encyclopedia of Education, The Gale Encyclopedia of Children's Health: Infancy through Adolescence, The Gale Encyclopedia of Science, and more.

Get moving with full-text online books. Type search terms in the “Basic Search” box to find titles such as The Complete Idiot's Guide to Yoga, Exercise for Older Adults: ACE's Guide for Fitness Professionals, Creative Fitness: Applying Health Psychology and Exercise Science to Everyday Life, Preventing Childhood Obesity: Health in the Balance, and many more.

World Book
All World Book resources offer encyclopedia articles about health and fitness. In addition, World Book Student and World Book Advanced offer age-appropriate, safe videos and web sites. Find them by typing search terms in the search box. World Book Advanced adds related magazine articles.

Direct access to all the resources mentioned is available from the South Dakota State Library web site library.sd.gov within libraries in South Dakota, and 24/7 access is available to citizens from home with a library barcode and password.
