Summer Boredom Buster—World Book Public Library Edition

Do you have the same old computer games? Are all the “good” videos checked out? Does your library need a summer boredom buster? World Book Public Library Edition comes to the rescue!

Created for public libraries, World Book Public Library Edition contains games, research tools, life skills information and more. World Book Public Library Edition offers something for every age.

World Book Online for Kids (grades K-5) provides easy-to-read articles, interactive educational games, science project ideas and activities. Special features include the World of Animals and outline maps and flags to color.

World Book Online Info Finder (grades 5-9) provides longer articles, plus research tools like a citation builder and timelines. Special components include science projects, interactive maps, links to newspaper Web pages and virtual tours to museums, historical sites and unusual places.

World Book Online Reference Center (grades 9-adult) contains encyclopedia articles, primary sources, electronic books and other useful features including computer and web tutorials, life skills articles and links to government resources.

Patrons can access World Book Public Library Edition from the library or from home with barcode and password by going to library.sd.gov.

Note: Librarians are welcome to submit this article to their local newspapers if they like.
