Attention public library boards and directors: relax, recharge, reconnect
There are two east river training sessions in May specifically planned just for you. Each will deal with public library board issues. They are free to any board member or library director of a South Dakota public library. We encourage library directors to attend with one or more of your board members. These sessions are a great investment for your community and a time to relax, recharge and reconnect with fellow board members from neighboring communities. Don’t miss this opportunity. Bonnie McKewon, consultant for NW area/Iowa State Library, will be speaking on community outreach and advocacy.
- May 3—Watertown Regional Library, Watertown
Thursday, May 3; 4:00 to 8:00 pm. 160 6th St. NE, Community Room - May 4—Siouxland Libraries: Main Branch, Sioux Falls

Presented by Colleen Kirby, Mary G. Johnson and Joan Upell
Interlibrary loan will continue to change as digital options and budgets change. Beginning with school year 2012-2013, school libraries are asked to keep more detailed statistics for interlibrary loan. The State Library needs more exact data to determine ILL patterns and trends. For this reason starting with the 2013 School Library Survey we will be collecting more detailed information. This webinar covers ILL basics and what data you need to collect and how to collect it once school begins in the fall of 2012. Register Online.
