Do you ever see articles about awesome programs at huge libraries and think "I wish I could do something like that!" Well, you can - it's called scaling. When you scale a program, either up or down, you tweak the idea to make it work for the size of your library. You may need more or fewer volunteers, more or fewer prizes, or more or less time to accomplish the program. Take this program for example: a digital camera scavenger hunt. The library in the article has a scavenger list for teens that is daunting for most places in South Dakota, but there are all kinds of places and objects for teens to snap pictures of that big cities don't have. So what programs will you scale at your library this year?
