It's summertime! And reading progress shouldn't stop just because school is out. The more reading kids do, the more successful they'll be in school – and in life.

As summer readers "Dig Into Reading" across the state, find additional materials for libraries to use at read south dakota logoREAD! SD.

Find-a-Book is a tool for kids and parents who may need help in finding ideas for titles that are both at the appropriate level and interesting and engaging. It's also a tool that librarians can add to their reader's advisory resources.

Summer reading includes reading texts of all types and in all formats. Remind kids and parents that they have 24/7 access to all of the magazines, encyclopedias and more through the State Library's online resources. Plus, SD Titles to Go member libraries and those with other ebook services offer titles that can be downloaded for reading on many different devices. The newly updated Overdrive platform now offers grade-level searching.

It's all about the challenge of helping kids "Dig Into Reading" all summer long!
