How can your library help businesses in your community? Offer assistance with your own collection of business materials and with the State Library electronic resources.

Learning Express Library helps employees and business owners improve their skills. The Career Center offers practice tests, tutorials and e-books for many careers that require certification or licensure. These include the Commercial Driver License (CDL) test, Allied Health, Nursing, Cosmetology, Plumbing, Postal Worker, Culinary Arts, Real Estate, and others. The Career Center also offers general help in e-books such as "Business Writing Clear and Simple" and "Social Networking for Business Success." The Adult Learning Center helps users improve their skills in math, reading, writing, speaking and grammar. Each user must create his or her own confidential account in Learning Express Library to get started.

For patrons seeking business information, ProQuest contains many general, trade, and scholarly full-text journals, from "Business Week" and "Forbes" to the "Journal of Retailing" and "American Banker" and many more. Your agribusiness patrons can appreciate "Crop Science" and "Rangelands" and others. Patrons can search for information about their business needs or read the journals cover-to-cover. Either way, they can set alerts to let them know when new articles on the topic or the new issues are available.

Gale Virtual Reference Library contains online reference books, including the "Gale E-Commerce Sourcebook" and "Casebase: Case Studies in Global Business."

The globally-minded business person interested in learning foreign languages can choose from over 60 languages offered in Mango Languages. These include specialty courses such as Medical Spanish, Hospitality and Tourism in Brazilian Portuguese, and Arab Etiquette.

These and other e-resources are available from Online Resources on the State Library website. They are directly available within the library and on school and academic campuses and available from home with barcode and password. Contact Julie Erickson,, or Jane Healy,, State Library Electronic Services Coordinators, for more information.
