AncestryLibrary: Creating hyperlinks/ shortcuts
The State Library has registered the IP addresses of South Dakota library/campus PC's at two authentication servers; these are located at ProQuest's AncestryLibrary and at SDLN. As a result, these South Dakota libraries may use either of the two URL's listed below to create local links to access AncestryPlus from local library websites or desktop icons, etc.:
- The URL below can be used by all SD libraries that have registered their Internet Protocal/IP addresses to provide access on the Internet-connected microcomputers in their libraries and on their campuses:
http://ancestrylibrary.proquest.com - The URL created by SDLN for the previously licensed Gale version (called AncestryPlus) can also provide access to AncestryPlus from all SD library and campus PC's which have registered IP addresses with the SD State Library:
http://webpals.sdln.net/cgi-bin/authgate/index.cgi?db=acp
Due to contract limitations with database producer, myfamilyinc.com, remote/home access to AncestryLibrary is NOT possible. Library bar-code numbers (and passwords) CANNOT be used to access AncestryLibrary. AncestryLibrary is available only on equipment whose static, external/public IP addresses are listed on ProQuest IP Address Registers (or IP filters).
