Funded by South Dakota taxpayers and by federal Library Services & Technology Act/LSTA monies, the SD State Library makes four Lexis/Nexis databases available free-of-charge exclusively on the personal computers of SD State Government.
Nexis/Lexis includes CIS's State and Federal legislative, statistical & policy databases, including full-text of bills, laws, regulations, statistical tables, etc. It is organized in three following databases:
- LexisNexis Congressional (indexes 1789+ )
Based on CIS's reliable indexing & abstracting of publications of the US Congress (1970+) and CIS's Legislative Histories (1970+). Provides seamless links to the full text of Federal Register (1980+); Congressional Record (1985+); Congressional working papers and legislation, including hearings & public laws (1988+); committee reports, bills & CRS bill digest (1989+); selected committee prints & Congressional documents (1995+); and the current USC, CFR, Congressional rules, hot bills/topics & committee info, as well as "The Hill", "Roll Call" and the "Washington Post" Section A. Includes Congressional member biographical and committee assignment information, voting records, financial data, and the full text of key regulatory and statutory resources. Also included is the module "Congressional Indexes 1789-1969", which indexes the Serial Set (1817-1969) & American State Papers (1789-1830's), Congressional Committee Hearings (published & unpublished) and Prints, and Senate Executive Documents & Reports. - LexisNexis State Capital
