December 19 SDSL website is updated with Transition section.
December 15
  • Distribution Plan is sent to SD libraries.
  • Letter explaining delivery of services to remote users is sent.
December 4 Notification Letter is sent to SD libraries.
December 1 DDN Sessions scheduled for librarians across SD to discuss changes in Large Print delivery.
November 27 Large Print Letter and Survey is sent.
November 21
  • Postcard notifying citizens about ceasing services.
  • Collection Development Policy is approved by the SD Library Board.
  • Internet Use Policy is approved by the SD Library Board.

October/ November Arts section of SDSL collection is sent to Northern State University's Williams Library.
August Digitization and Technical Services merge into one unit.
May 30
April Weeding of SDSL collection begins.
February Focus groups held at eight locations throughout the state to gather information from local governmental officials, business owners, educators, parents, teens, senior citizens, and the public in general.
January Conference calls held with seven different groups of librarians to determine areas of strength, areas where additional growth is needed, and services that can potentially be phased out.




2005
October Dr. Mary C. Bushing is hired to conduct a survey of the South Dakota State Library services and programs.
