Regional Meetings 2013: Ebooks & School Libraries
What's going on with ebooks in school libraries? The SD State Library and the School Section of SDLA will hold regional meetings at three locations for certified-teacher librarians, paraprofessional librarians, district librarians, library aides, and administrators who wish to learn more about the current ebook landscape.
School Library Coordinators Marta Stirling and Joan Upell will partner with Electronic Services Coordinators Jane Healy and Julie Erickson to give an overview of what's available for schools and ways to integrate ebooks with the online resources and the Common Core State Standards. School librarians at each location will also discuss and demonstrate ebook platforms they are now using with their students.
Plus, there will be time for exploration and questions, so bring your own laptop, tablet, or other device of your choice. Wi-Fi will be provided through hotspot connections. Attendees will receive three hours of CEU.
The regional meetings will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm (local time) as follows:
- Tuesday, Dec. 10 in Sioux Falls
Memorial Middle School Library
- Wednesday, Dec. 11 in Rapid City
