Beth Samenus, from Edith B. Siegrist Vermillion Public Library, will be discussing early literacy and STEM opportunities that she learned at the VELI-STEM Vermont Early Literacy Initiative Program training she attended this past fall.

VELI-STEM project will strengthen and help educate our librarians to provide local opportunities for young children to explore and learn about science, technology, engineering and math. Not only is this important for children's own personal understanding of the world around them, but this kind of informal learning fosters curiosity and the excitement of discovery.

  • Light breakfast and lunch included
  • Networking opportunities with your fellow librarians
  • Take Home early literacy STEM resources* for your library. Limited to the first 20 libraries who register. Space is limited so register early.
  • Opportunity for your library staff and/or trustees to earn contact hours for voluntary certification or accreditation.

Friday, April 6
9:30 — 1:30 PM CT
18 Church St. Vermillion, SD

* Gifts given by the SDSL with support from IMLS/LSTA funding.
