The State Library produces an electronic newsletter, with eleven editions a year. Columns include "Library Development", "Trends and More", and "Why Didn't I Think of That?"

Electronic Resources Challenge 
The South Dakota Library Challenge: Electronic Resources Edition was developed by the South Dakota State Library staff to introduce you to the statewide subscription electronic resources. The Electronic Resources Challenge encourages library staff to learn more about the resources that provide expanded access to information and research tools to all schools, libraries and citizens of South Dakota.

Government Publication Depository
South Dakota State Government Publications are distributed to nine depository libraries in South Dakota by the State Library as part of the state publications distribution center and depository library system.
Jump Start
Grab your travel gear and head to a Jump Start workshop near you! Jasmine Rockwell (SD State Library), Karen Duenwald (SD State Library), Becky Pittenger (Yankton Community Library), and Ali Bruinsma (Brookings Public Library) will be traveling the state bringing you ideas to “jump start” your summer reading program! Scheduled every February.
Library Training Institute
Coordinated by the South Dakota State Library, the Library Training Institute is a four-year program of continuing education for library practitioners, support staff and trustees of small public libraries.

Prairie Bud and Pasque Awards
The Prairie Bud & Pasque Children's Book Awards are sponsored by the South Dakota Library Association. Prairie Bud Awards cover grades Kindergarten through 2nd. Prairie Pasque Awards cover grades 3rd through 5th.
RACE Webinars
Coordinated by the South Dakota State Library, Random Acts of Continuing Education (RACE) are 30 minutes to 1 hour webinars that focus on current topics of interest to librarians.
School Library Boot Camp
Come join us for School Library Boot Camp! This event is designed for school librarians, paraprofessionals, teachers and administrators!
South Dakota Book Bag
With funding from the South Dakota Humanities Council, three South Dakota State University professors and John Miller, Professor of History emeritus, SDSU, wrote twenty-one study guides for books by South Dakota authors or with a South Dakota theme to be used with the book bags.
South Dakota Titles To Go
The South Dakota State Library is pleased to announce its coordination of an affordable self-funded OverDrive downloadable audiobook and ebook program for purchase by public libraries in South Dakota. The OverDrive program will provide participating public library patrons the ability to download audiobooks and ebooks from the public library website. Downloadable audiobooks and ebooks are available in a wide variety of popular genres, including bestsellers, fiction, romance, suspense, children's and YA, business, self-help and language learning.

Each year the Young Adult Reading Program (YARP) Committee of the South Dakota Library Association publishes a list to promote quality literature and to help South Dakota teachers and librarians in selecting and promoting books for adolescents.
