Adult Winter Reading Challenge
The SD Braille and Talking Book Library started the Adult Winter Reading Challenge in 2022. Interested readers contacted their reader advisor to sign up to receive a customized Winter Reading 2022 cartridge with books from various genres. This was a chance to try something new and maybe discover a different author.
In addition to a cartridge with six books, participants received a short questionnaire to simply answer one question after reading each book. 36 participants joined the fun. There was an early bird drawing and a Winter Wind Up drawing held for prizes awarded both among those who registered and those who complete the challenge.
Youth Winter Reading Program: Ages Birth - 19
SD Braille & Talking Book Library Youth patrons (from ages birth through 19 years) who read all 28 days in February and returned their reading chart are entered into a drawing. We encourage reading at least 20 minutes every day.
