SDSL's Literacy Workshop is being postponed to a future date

Literacy Workshop October 12 2023

The South Dakota State Library is facilitating a literacy workshop for school and public librarians. This workshop is an opportunity to learn about foundational reading skills, family literacy training and tips, and how to incorporate preliteracy skills into library activities. All sessions are 10 am - 3 pm local time. Participants will earn 6 CE hours. In-person participation is required.

The Department of Education, of which the SD State Library is a division, is excited to present a new professional learning platform. Instructure Canvas will allow users to register for offerings, participate in learning experiences, and access records of training completed through this system. All items are considered "courses" within the platform even if they are webinars, workshops, conferences, or in-person events.
