Jump Start 2025

Jump Start workshops are hosted in person and virtually, and scheduled for various dates and times to fit every librarian's needs.

What to expect

• Each person at your library planning to attend should register separately.
• CECH hours include attending the workshop and watching assigned materials/video.
  • In-Person workshop = 5 CECH
  • Virtual workshop = 3 CECH

Jump Start workshops are a great way to help jump start your summer planning! The workshops take place each spring and include opportunities to explore the CSLP manual and get together with other SD library staff to network, share ideas, and jump start your planning.

In-person workshops are available in 5 different locations across SD, with shorter virtual workshop sessions available for those that can't make it to an in-person session. Please see the specific dates/times, along with the corresponding registration link, below.

Registration information

Registration will open December 2, 2024 through January 31, 2025.

• To register, fill out the registration form at the link provided and choose the workshop you would like to attend. After your registration form has been processed, you will be emailed a link to enroll in the Canvas course. You must then enroll in the Canvas course to keep your spot in your chosen workshop.
• Each person at your library planning to attend should register separately.
• We welcome any library staff to register and attend. Please note though, that if in-person capacity is reached and at any given in-person location and a wait list occurs, the number attending from a single library may be limited to 2 people. Additional registered staff from that library may be shifted to a virtual workshop.
• CECH hours include attending the workshop and watching assigned materials/video. Videos must be viewed prior to attending the workshop.
  • 4 hour In-Person workshop = 5 CECH
  • 2 hour Virtual workshop = 3 CECH

Jump Start videos and additional workshop details (specific to location) will be available through Canvas after registering, by end of January.
