The South Dakota State Library partners with Mile Up Marketing Solutions to help public libraries create modern, accessible, and mobile friendly "digital branch" websites. These sites connect patrons to ebooks, research databases, catalogs, and other online services.

Free services include:

  • A simple, one page website template
  • An easy to-remember web address
  • Website hosting
  • Start up and onboarding support

The State Library covers all website, template, and hosting costs. Libraries may purchase optional upgrades directly from Mile Up.

Divi Builder Tutorials
Additional help for customizing your site is available through Divi's training resources, including:

What can I update?
Libraries can edit the text and images between the header and footer. Other areas are locked for simplicity.

How do I log in to make updates?
Use the customized instructions and credentials provided when your site went live.

How often should I update the website?
Review all information and links at least quarterly, or more often if posting events. Keep your digital branch fresh and maintained.

Why claim my library's Google Business Profile?
Claiming your listing lets you manage how your library appears in search results and ensures users are directed to your new website.

Can I add more features?
Yes. The State Library funds the basic one page site, but libraries may purchase additional pages, calendars, search bars, slideshows, and more directly from Mile Up.

Funding for this program is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the South Dakota State Library.
